What inspires you about the CCWC Annual Conference?

"This is one of my favorite conferences. I love it- I always leave energized and inspired.CCWC offers a chance for renewal and reflection, as well as an opportunity to gain valuable information for career strategies and professional development. If you jump in and are intentional about connecting, you can meet one person who can change your life by turning you on to business, giving you wisdom about in-house vs. private practice careers, providing advice that influences your practice, or introducing you to a new, valuable relationship. "

What does your time at the CCWC Conference Mean to You:

"I'm a first time attendee and will be a regular attendee going forward because it is so rare to walk into a room and feel supported and valued immediately. There is an intangible feeling that everyone you meet supports you and is invested in your career goals. The conference gives you a chance to drive valuable professional relationships by creating opportunities to connect on a personal level. I was a speaker this year and it was wonderful engaging with so many friends and colleagues."

What do you value about the CCWC Conference?

"I've known Laurie since CCWC started and for the last 21 years that I've attended, the annual conference has been a a great place to refuel professionally because of the valuable programming, the chance to reconnect with members of my network who are now old friends, and gain a new perspective on the work that I do."

What has drawn you to the CCWC Conference?

"This is my second time attending the conference and I've been in panels all day. The conference is such an amazing, unique opportunity to just lean in. Lean in on connecting with other lawyers, gain professional inspiration and career information from the impressive women who attend and share stories, real talk, about their path to success- everyone is so welcoming. It's totally worth your time to attend and engage in everything the conference offers- the panels, the networking events, and career advice from speakers, panelists and fellow attendees.”

What makes the CCWC Conference such a valuable experience for you?

"For me, this conference has really great content in a range of different areas of the law that I find very helpful because I have such a niche practice of law. The exposure to panels that cover so many different areas of the law is extremely valuable to me. And I really enjoyed the addition of panels focused on AI this year. This conference is also important to me because of the amazing professional network of lawyers from law firms and in-house offices. I wouldn't have this opportunity otherwise, so for first-time attendees, I'd advise them to network, network, network and to take advantage of the wonderful programming."

As a long-time attendee, share why this CCWC Conference is so important to you?

"I've been coming to this conference for almost my entire legal career. My contacts here have helped me build my business, gain important career advice, and develop longstanding friendships with women lawyers I would not have met otherwise. The conference is also a great opportunity to benchmark- you can tap into the insights of in-house counsel, lawyers at other law firms, consultants, speakers and really gain a sense of important developments and trends in the profession. And then, there is always great content. So for me, this conference is just a wonderful opportunity to gain tools, great friends, and perspective that I find incredibly valuable."

What drew you back to the CCW Conference?

"This is my second CCWC Conference because I was so inspired at the first conference that I attended. During one of the sessions on career strategies, I was actually moved to tears. I was also impressed with the opportunities to engage and learn and decided to return and I'm glad that I did. The firm has decided to make this conference an annual conference on its schedule for women attorneys of color as result of the learning and professional experience the CCWC Conference offers. It is all the things- a great networking experience, the professional development content is amazing, and the activities to connect personally with other women about their career paths and strategies has been so important. I'm glad to be here once again and look forward to future conferences."

"What do you find valuable about the CCWC Conference?"

" I attended last year and found the conference to be very empowering and informative. I also left having some new professional goals for myself, so I decided to return this year. I recently became a partner and the content has been very helpful. In fact, I attended the panel on emotional intelligence as a leader and as a new partner, the information was really valuable. So, I will continue to commit to attending and I look forward to continuing to build the network I have started building here with impressive fellow attorneys."

As a first-attendee at the CCWC Conference, how are you finding your experience so far?

"It has been very exciting. I came because I am interested in executive leadership roles and felt that as a matter of my professional development, I needed insights about career strategies. I also wanted to gain more insight about my skills and how to build on them. The content that I was seeking has been great, along with the networking- everyone is so supportive. So yes, I will definitely plan to return again next year."
