Wanji Walcott  |  Senior VP and Managing Counsel American Express

Wanji Walcott is senior vice president and managing counsel at American Express.  With nineteen years of broad experience counseling diverse businesses, she leads a team that provides global legal support for prepaid products, digital commerce initiatives,mobile payments, social media, complex technology contracts, big data initiatives, cloud computing, data security, real estate, tech-related legal issues in M&A, outsourcing, and shared services.  Prior to her position at American Express, Walcott practiced law at Pillsbury Wintrhop Shaw Pittman LLP and was associate counsel at Lockheed Martin IMS Corporation.  She was recently awarded the Network Journal’s “25 Influential Black Women in Business Award.”  Walcott served on the board of the City Bar Justice Center, the Association of Corporate Counsel, Greater New York Chapter, and currently serves on the board of trustees at the Middlesex School, where she chairs the Audit Committee.  She received her Bachelor of Arts and her Juris Doctorate from Howard University.
